The European Commission will continue its efforts in the next few weeks to settle gas supply disagreements between Russia and Ukraine, EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger said on July 24.

“In the next few weeks we’ll continue our efforts to find a solution –
an agreement in the gas dispute between Ukraine and Russia,” he said.

However, Oettinger did not mention a specific date for the resumption
of trilateral gas talks of the EU, Russia and Ukraine, neither did he
disclose a possible date for a bilateral meeting with Russian Energy
Minister Alexander Novak.

Oettinger said that the settlement of the dispute is connected with the formation of gas reserves.

“We’ve got a coordination group, which is working to ensure all European storage facilities are filled with gas,” he said.
