The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) will consider on August 28 a complaint by Ukraine's former prime minister and the leader of the Batkivschyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko, against the unlawfulness of her being taken into custody, defense counsel for the ex-premier, Sehiy Vlasenko, said.
“The hearing has been scheduled for August 28. The ECHR hearing procedure is rather short – one day. After that, the court will have time to deliberate – this can take from one week to several months,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Friday, when asked when the court’s ruling concerning the complaint may appear.
Vlasenko recalled that the defense team filed a complaint on August 10, 2011.
