The whereabouts of over 200 children whom the self-proclaimed authorities of Slovyansk intended to take out of the city is currently unknown, spokesman for the anti-terrorism operation (ATO) Vladyslav Selezniov has said.

At a briefing by telephone, when asked about the situation with the
evacuation of children from Sloviansk, Selezniov said: “At present, we
do not know where more than 200 children are. According to information
received yesterday, a convoy of five buses tried to leave Slovyansk
yesterday, the last place where it was seen was a checkpoint manned by
separatists on the outskirts of Slovyansk.”

According to him, the leadership of the anti-terrorist operation has
not received any requests from the self-proclaimed local authorities to
create safe conditions for moving the children.

“We do not know where the children are,” the spokesman said.
