Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Valeria Lutkovska has said that, if necessary, she is ready to go to Kharkiv again to visit Ukraine's imprisoned former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
“If there any other information that is the basis for another visit to Kharkiv, then, of course, another visit will be definitely made,” she told reporters in Kyiv on Monday.
Lutkovska also said that she had visited Ukrzaliznytsia’s Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 a week ago, on January 21, but she had not talked to Tymoshenko.
“I did not notify the penitentiary service and the patient of my visit. The patient is in a hospital, and I have no right to break into her ward. The chief of guards asked her if she wanted to meet, but she has not yet expressed such a desire. If she expresses such a desire… she will get in touch with me,” Lutkovska told reporters after leaving the hospital.
