One Ukrainian military service member has been killed during the military operation in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, operation spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.
“One Ukrainian military serviceman has been killed and yet another injured in the past 24 hours,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on March 4.
The Ukrainian military positions have been shelled 47 times in the past 24 hours, said a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.
The highest number of ceasefire breaches by militias has been registered in Avdiyivka, Pisky and Opytne, the spokesperson said.
“The shelling dynamic shown on the photo attests that militants have mainly used mortar launchers, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft weapons, automatic grenade launchers and small arms,” the spokesperson said.
One incident of militiamen using artillery against the Ukrainian positions near Avdiyivka for five minutes (from 11.45 p.m. till 11.50 p.m.) has been registered in the past 24 hours.
