Two civilians and one Ukrainian serviceman have been killed, and four civilians and 18 soldiers have been injured in the country's eastern regions over the past 24 hours, the army operation press center has reported.

The Ukrainian army’s positions came under fire 39 times, the press center said. The situation was particularly tense near the cities of Donetsk, Luhansk and Debaltseve.

Twenty-five strikes were carried out against towns and villages in Luhansk region, including Schastia, the press center said.

Tensions are also running high in the southern part of the army operation area, the press center said.

“The adversary is using mines and landmines against our forces near the city of Mariupol,” it said. Ukrainian military hardware has been damaged by mine explosions twice over the past 24 hours.

Strikes using Grad multiple-launch rocket systems continue in the vicinity of Donetsk. Ukrainian soldiers managed to repel armed units’ attacks near Donetsk airport, the press center said.

The Ukrainian army has launched 18 artillery strikes against militia-held positions over the past 24 hours, it said.
