One member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been killed and another 12 injured in the military-operation zone in Donbas over the past 24 hours, said Andriy Lysenko, a military spokesman in the presidential administration.

“As a result of the hostilities of the past 24 hours, we have lost one fighter and another 12 were injured,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on July 28.

“The military situation on the front has aggravated in the past 24 hours,” Lysenko said.

The shelling of Ukrainian positions near Stanytsia Luhanska and Schastia in Luhansk Oblast has continued, he said.

Fighting resumed north of the Bakhmutka highway, he said. Around the village of Kriakivka, Novoaidar District, Ukrainian forces repelled an attack by a sabotage group which had crossed the Siversky Donets River. Several military provocations were also observed near the village of Krymske.

In the Donetsk Oblast, forward positions near Svitlodarsk, along the perimeter of Horlivka and positions west of Donetsk remain major points of tension, Lysenko said.

Between Avdiyivka and Maryinka hostilities continued round the clock, he said.

“The most difficult situation is near the Donetsk circular road. The attack was carried out directly from Donetsk,” Lysenko said.

Between Maryinka and Volnovakha, the truce holds.

In the Mariupol area, hostilities took place east of the occupied town of Telmanove, Lysenko said.
