The operation of 18 gas distribution stations has been suspended in the counterterrorist operation zone and the Amvrosiyivka-Horlivka-Sloviansk section of the trunk pipeline is disconnected, as it was damaged, the press service of public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz reported on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

As of late August the structural divisions and branches of the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system performed eight out of 15 scheduled repair projects.

During the preparation for the heating season 20 kilometers of linear part of gas pipelines were repaired, 1,158 kilometers of pipelines were inspected and eight gas pumping units and 245 gas distribution stations were reconstructed and repaired.

As of Aug. 25, 2014, Ukrtransgaz accumulated almost 15.573 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 47 percent up year-over-year.

“It is planned that the whole complex of works on the preparation of gas transport system’s facilities for the heating season, apart from the facilities located in the counterterrorist operation zone will be finished on time in early October,” reads the report.

Ukrtransgaz operates 12 storage facilities (31 billion cubic meters).
