You're reading: Opposition needs three signatures for no-confidence decision

Batkivshchyna faction leader Arseniy Yatseniuk announced that the opposition needs three signatures for the vote of no confidence to proceed against the Cabinet of Ministers.

“We are collecting signatures under a vote of no confidence regarding
the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. We need to get three more
signatures to gain a total number of 226 MPs in order to fire Azarov’s
government,” he exclaimed.

The politician added that even several members of the Communist Party had signed.

On her Facebook page Iryna Gerashchenko, a legislator from the UDAR
party, urged the people to pressure their majority district
representatives to get them to sign the vote of no confidence.

On December 16 Volodymyr Yavorivskiy, a lawmaker from the
Batkivshchyna party, registered a petition to President Viktor
Yanukovych, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

Moreover, Arseniy Yatseniuk stated that the opposition had been
collecting signatures for the resignation of Azarov’s government since
December 16 as well. The resignation of the current government is one of
the key demands of the protesters.
