The opposition has confirmed the release of arrested protesters from custody and started freeing the building of Kyiv City Administration and Hrushevskoho Street in central Kyiv, MP from Batkivschyna Party Serhiy Sobolev has said.

“According to our calculation, around 2,500 arrested protesters were released and are placed under house arrest (full or partial) or released on bail. We should admit the fact that they are not staying in prison,” Sobolev said on the Fifth TV Channel on Friday, February 14.

He said that if the amnesty law does not take effect before February 17, this will mean that at any moment they could have been arrested again and put into prison.

As for the fulfilment of the liabilities taken by the opposition, he said that the opposition has started fulfilling them. The requirement to unblock movement in Hrushevskoho Street and the Svoboda party, which was responsible for the maintenance of the building of Kyiv Administration, has started preparing for the transfer of the building. The condition of the opposition is the ban from staying Berkut and other riot-police officers in the building.

Sobolev confirmed that the decision on the compromise was made at the Maidan and will be fulfilled by all Maidan participants and all organizations presented.
