The Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE SMM) calls on all political forces in Ukraine to refrain from the use of violence in solving political issues, Deputy Head of OSCE SMM Alexander Hug told the briefing conference in Kyiv on Sep. 2.

On Aug. 31, OSCE SMM observers saw acts of violence in Kyiv when the protest outside the Verkhovna Rada building resulted in the deaths of three people and the injury of a large number of others. Such violence is no response to political differences, Hug said.

The OSCE SMM urges people from all political parties of Ukraine to refrain from the use of violence, also calling for the settlement of their differences by exceptionally peaceful means in future, Hug said.
