You're reading: OSCE: No agreement yet over delimitation line in east Ukraine

The conflicting sides in eastern Ukraine have failed to agree upon a delimitation line, said Alexander Hug, the head of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Special Monitoring Mission in the region.

The line of delimitation is 480 kilometers long. So far there is no mutual understanding over this issue between the two sides. The two sides have so far failed to agree upon the line of delimitation, he told reporters in Donetsk on Nov. 5.

He said that the drawing of boundaries must be preceded by observance of the ceasefire.

The delimitation line passes along Mariupol and the towns of Debaltseve and Schastia. To establish a security line, it is necessary to ensure observance of the ceasefire, the OSCE official said.
