You're reading: Over 1,000 candidates in single-seat constituencies already registered by Ukraine’s CEC

Ukraine's Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered another 394 candidates running in single-member constituencies for the parliamentary elections due on Oct. 26.

On Sept. 23, the CEC registered 301 party-nominated candidates in single-seat constituencies and 93 independents.

The former includes 179 candidates in single-member constituencies from Batkivschyna Party, 118 from People’s Front, three from Sirius Party and one from the Popular Rukh of Ukraine.

The total number of candidates registered by Sept. 23 is 1,070, including 474 nominated by parties and 596 independents.
