You're reading: Over 1,200 people leave Crimea for Ukraine

A total of 1,288 people left Crimea for Ukraine temporarily or permanently, mostly the Lviv region as of March 19, member of the Ukrainian government Ostap Semerak told a briefing in Kyiv on March 20.

Of these people, 932 people (including 422 children) have left for the Lviv region, he said.

Semerak said the Ukrainian authorities have recently issued 300 passports to enable citizens of Ukraine who live in Crimea to cross the border. “It was a whole special operation to issue these passports to those people,” he said.
