Head of the Negotiators Group of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Yuriy Tandit has said that over 2,800 Ukrainians have been freed from militant captivity in eastern Ukraine.

“As for the liberation of hostages. If it wasn’t for the SBU, we wouldn’t have done, what’s done. As of today, over 2,800 people have been liberated, and every day people get out of there,” Tandit said during a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on June 30.

He added that the process of liberating hostages was always ongoing.
