You're reading: Over 30 roadblocks set up in Kharkiv Oblast

KHARKIV - The authorities in Kharkiv Oblast have set up 32 roadblocks to prevent weapons and gunmen from the Donbas hostilities zone from getting in, the public liaisons department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Kharkiv Oblast has reported.

“Thirty-two roadblocks have been organized across the region, with 300 police and other law enforcement officers on guard round the clock… Security has also been stepped up on bridges and other critical assets,” the department quoted Kharkiv regional police chief Anatoliy Dmytriyev as saying.

He said that law enforcers seized five grenade launchers, six machineguns and mortar launchers, 17 automatic rifles, 74 rifles, 78 pistols and revolvers, 28 improvised weapons, 179 grenades, 52 mines and shells, 33.5 kilograms of explosives, 20,200 cartridges and 106 explosive devices.

Besides, Kharkiv police units organized and delivered 16 tonnes of aid to the people of the Donbas region.
