You're reading: Parliament approves program to combat HIV/AIDS

The Ukrainian parliament at a meeting on Monday approved a nationwide targeted social program on combating HIV/AIDS in 2014-2018.

 According to an explanatory note to the law, the program is to be financed using the funds of state and local budgets, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as well as other sources, which will be allocated during five years of the effect of the program.

According to the document, the approximate amount of funding is only Hr 6.38 billion. In particular, it will be necessary to allocate Hr 4.82 billion from the state budget, Hr 331.377 million from local budgets, Hr 1.224 billion from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and Hr 4.367 million from other sources.
