You're reading: Parliament cuts number of permits

The Ukrainian parliament at a session on April 9 passed a law which considerably cuts permits.

A total of 270 lawmakers supported the law on amendments to some Ukrainian laws regarding the number of permits.

According to the law, the permit issuing agencies carry out all
actions required to receive agreements, conclusions and other documents
needed for the issue of the permits without involvement of entities.

“We amend 38 laws, four codes, one decree of the cabinet of ministers
and 33 bylaws. We cancel 113 permits,” the head of the parliamentary
committee for entrepreneurship, regulatory and antimonopoly policies,
Oleksandra Kuzhel, said presenting the law.

She said that the requirement of agreeing the location of deposits is
cancelled in the code of deposits, as there are permits on the use of
deposits that foresees all the rest.

She said that seven permits were cancelled from the mining code.
