You're reading: Parliament speaker Turchynov ready to resign for coalition government creation

Recently-appointed Chairman of Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov has said he is ready to resign in order to form a coalition government.

“For formation of the coalition government I should resign, so I’m submitting a letter of resignation for us to form a coalition government, and to elect the leadership of Verkhovna Rada later,” he said delivering a speech at the parliament’s rostrum on Saturday.

Turchynov is an associate of ex-premier Yulia Tymoshenko and MP of Batkivschyna faction.
