 The Verkhovna Rada will hear a report on the situation in the war-torn area behind closed doors on Tuesday, the head of the Economic Development group in parliament, Anatoliy Kinakh, has said.

 “The Verkhovna Rada will hold a meeting on Sept. 16 partially behind closed doors, with the participation of the president and the chief of the General Staff,” he told journalists in Kyiv on Monday after the president’s meeting with the leaders of parliamentary factions and groups.

When asked whether his group will vote for a bill on the special status of territories in Donbas, Kinakh said: “Following the report on the situation in the ATO area – tomorrow it will take place at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada (preliminarily it will be held behind closed doors, with the participation of the Ukrainian president and the chief of the General Staff) and in accordance with the information about the situation in the ATO area other decisions concerning the bills on amnesty on special status will be made.”

He said that the report would be heard at the closed part of the meeting.
