You're reading: Parliamentary elections could be held at 18 of 32 constituencies in Donbas

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), 1.46 million voters out of the 3.4 million registered in Donetsk region and 560,000 out of the 1.8 million registered in Luhansk region will be able to take part in the voting in early parliamentary elections in Ukraine on October 26, CEC Chairman Mykhailo Okhendovsky has said.

According to the commission’s press service, this issue was discussed on Wednesday at a meeting between Okhendovsky and a delegation of the special PACE committee on monitoring early parliamentary elections in Ukraine led by Chairperson of the European Democrat Group in PACE Christopher Chope.

According to Okhendovsky, there is hope that the elections in Donetsk region will be held at 13 of 21 constituencies and that the elections in Luhansk region could be held at five of 11 constituencies.
