Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will not take part in the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Interfax-Ukraine learned that the president had decided not to fly to the United States. On Thursday, September 25, he will give a press conference in Kyiv.

As reported, Poroshenko signed a decree approving the composition of the Ukrainian delegation that will attend the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.

The delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, and it will also include Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN Yuriy Serheyev, Acting Director of the Department of International Organizations of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Beshta, Deputy Director of the Department and Head of the UN Section at the Department of International Organizations of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Yuriy Vitrenko, Director of the Department of International Law at the Foreign Ministry Larysa Herasko, Deputy Director of the International Security Department at the Foreign Ministry Ihor Kyzym, Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsia, and Director of the Department of Policy and Communications at the Foreign Ministry Oleksiy Makeyev.

In addition, the delegation will include Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Valeriy Chaly and Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Department and Head of the Unit of Strategic Initiatives and Communications at the Main Department of Foreign Policy and European Integration at Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Oksana Shuliar.

Earlier, the UN press service reported that the Ukrainian president would speak at a meeting of the UN General Assembly on Sept. 25.
