You're reading: PGO suspects ex-head of Agrarian Fund, three firm directors of misappropriating Hr 520 million

The former head of the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine and three directors of commercial structures have been notified of being suspected of the misappropriation of more than Hr 521 million intended for sugar purchases, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has reported.

“As a result of investigation into the crimes committed by the former officials, in particular, the employees of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, the special investigations office of the PGO main investigation department reported the former head of the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine and three directors of commercial structures on suspicion of committing crimes under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the PGO said in a statement.

The individuals held under suspicion are suspected of colluding with officials of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The PGO is taking steps to choose detention as a measure of restraint. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The PGO has not specified the names of the suspects.
