The state flag of Ukraine was put over the executive committee of the town of Rubizhne, Luhansk region, on Monday, July 21, users of social networking sites have reported.
Photos of the flag have been posted on the Internet.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in a phone conversation
with German Chancellor Angela Merkel that the Ukrainian military have
encircled Rubizhne. “Despite the terrorists’ resistance, the Ukrainian
military have blocked the town of Rubizhne, Luhansk region, and it is
now being cleansed from militants,” the presidential press service
reported.
Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov announced the
liberation of Rubizhne at a conciliatory council’s meeting on Monday.
“The town of Rubizhne has been liberated and fighting is going on to
liberate the towns of Popasne and Dzerzhynsk. Their liberation will be
followed by the liberation of the towns of Lysychansk and
Severodonetsk,” he said.
