You're reading: Piatnytsky: Date for next Ukraine-EU-Russia talks on Association Agreement not agreed yet

The date for the next round of consultations between Ukraine, Russia and the EU concerning the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement has not yet been determined, Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade Valeriy Piatnytsky has said.

‘There is currently no specific date for such consultations,’ he said on Sept. 30 at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, while answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine.

As reported, on Monday, Sept. 29, the EU General Affairs Council postponed for a year – until Jan. 1, 2016 – the application of the provisions of the Association Agreement with Ukraine concerning the creation of a free trade area. This decision was the result of tripartite consultations held between Ukraine, Russia and the EU on Sept. 12 this year.

The sides agreed to continue consultations on the concerns raised by Russia due to the creation of the EU-Ukraine free trade area, and progress in the negotiations on these issues will be evaluated during trilateral ministerial meetings.
