You're reading: Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways won’t fulfill Ukrzaliznytsia’s orders

The employees of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways (Kyiv) are not planning to fulfill the orders given by the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia), the press service of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways has reported.

Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways said that the dismissal of the top managers of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways will lead to the stoppage of its operation, as those dismissed have the exclusive right to pass orders and resolutions ensuring the stable functioning of the railways.

The press service said that the orders and resolutions of acting Head of Ukrzaliznytsia Maksym Blank of March 19, on the dismissal of the top managers of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways, should not be implemented as they are criminal, and also because criminal cases against Blank on the abuse of power and office are allegedly being investigated.

Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways said that under the law on railway transport, railways are the key organization link in rail transport. The creation, reorganization, liquidation and definition of the territorial borders of railways, and the appointment and dismissal of their top managers, are settled under cabinet decisions, under the proposals of the central executive power agency on transport.

“The powers of the acting head of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways Ivan Fedorko are confirmed in a court ruling which took effect, and cabinet resolution No. 192-r on appointing Volodymyr Tiahulsky as acting head of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways is suspended. Taking into account the fact that Ukrzaliznytsia’s top managers issued illegal orders, from now on the employees of Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways will not execute the orders and resolutions of Ukrzaliznytsia,” reads the report.

Pivdenno-Zakhidna Railways has said that it has the right, guaranteed under Article 60 of the Constitution of Ukraine, to not fulfill obviously criminal orders or resolutions.
