Moscow - Polish gas monopoly PGNiG continues to supply gas to Ukraine in the amount of 4 million cubic meters of gas per day, while receiving from Russia 20 percent less than its bid, Bloomberg has reported, with reference to the head of Polish operator of the gas transportation system Gaz System, Jan Chadam.

According to him, Poland receives from Russia 19-20 million cubic meters of gas per day, while the consumption of the country is 28-30 million cubic meters of gas per day. The country buys another 10-12 million cubic meters of gas per day from Western Europe.

As reported, Poland on Sept. 10 said that Gazprom does not fully fulfill the application for gas imports (45 percent less), on Sept. 8 – by 20 percent, Sept. 9 – 24 percent, although the applications remain within the contracted volumes. To compensate for the shortage, PGNiG involved gas supply routes from the Czech Republic and Germany.

Gazprom stated that supplies to Poland are unchanged, and in the same amounts as on previous days.
