 Police officers have solved the murder of the head of the election headquarters of a Ukrainian presidential candidate in Nemyriv district, Vinnytsia region.

“Police have arrested a man who committed the murder of the head of the election headquarters of a Ukrainian presidential candidate in Nemyriv district, Vinnytsia region. The crime was ordered, but not related to the election process. The best Interior Ministry experts were engaged in the work to solve the murder,” the Interior Ministry’s press service reported on Saturday, citing regional police chief Oleh Shkolny.

The detainee is a 33-year-old local resident, already convicted, who agreed to commit the murder for $1,500. The evidence proving his guilt was seized. Law enforcers also identified a person who ordered the killing. Measures are being taken to arrest him.

As reported, the head of the election headquarters of presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko in a district in Vinnytsia region was found dead in Nemyriv (Vinnytsia region) on June 5. He sustained a gunshot wound.
