Dnipropetrovsk - Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have detained a 40-year-old resident of Dniprodzerzhynsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, on suspicion of organizing mass assault of members of the press and other civilians taking part in the Euromaidan events in Dnipropetrovsk in January 2014.

The man has been on the wanted list since August 2014 and was detained on Jan. 21, the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor’s office said. The court has yet to decide whether he should remain in custody pending trial.

Dnipropetrovsk regional Prosecutor Valery Romanov held an interagency conference on January 20 to discuss the investigations into crimes committed during the 2014 Euromaidan events. “After listening to reports from procedural chiefs and investigators, the investigations into the said criminal cases were found to be unsatisfactory, and it was decided to intensify them,” the office said.
