Four police officers were injured in clashes in central Kharkiv on April 13. "Four policemen were injured and three of them were hospitalized. The other refused hospitalization," a spokesman for the regional police department told an Interfax correspondent. He said the injured police officers are in satisfactory condition.

A criminal case was started into the scuffle on counts of hooliganism, he said.

Reports said earlier that clashes erupted in Kharkiv on April 13
between supporters and opponents of Ukraine’s unity. About 50 people
were injured in the unrest.

Kharkiv’s deputy mayor Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban later said that 14
people turned to the city hospital for medical attention and eight of
them were hospitalized. They are in satisfactory and stable condition,
she said.
