The police headquarters in the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk are being temporarily relocated, being moved out of the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk, the Interior Ministry said on July 4.

The headquarters of Donetsk is moving to Mariupol and that of Luhansk to Svatove. Their personnel are to arrive at the new sites of service by July 7, the ministry says in an address to the two regions’ police forces.

“In case they cannot arrive there, each officer will have the right to choose the territorial authority where they wish to serve for the good of Ukraine,” the address says.

The ministry has “started work on your further service in other regions of Ukraine,” it says. “Everyone will have their wishes taken into account.”

“Ukraine has been drawn into an undeclared war, whose site is the territory of the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk,” the address says.

“The majority of [police in] Donetsk and Luhansk regions remain loyal to their oath and have risen to the defense of the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine and its population,” it says.

“The wait-and-see time is over. Everyone must decide whether they will be with the people or take the side of the traitors.”
