A 35-year-old local woman was shot and injured in Sloviansk (Donetsk region) by people who referred to themselves as Right Sector members, said Andriy Anosov, the acting deputy chief of the Donetsk regional police.

“Some people who referred to themselves as Right Sector
representatives today entered a house in Sloviansk and started firing
indiscriminately. The husband was shielding his wife who was in the
attic and sustained a penetrating wound in the chest,” he told the
regional council on April 24.

For his part, a town hospital’s chief physician Volodymyr Stepanov
told the local media that the woman was shot in the chest, and the
bullet punctured her breast and got stuck in the upper jaw. The woman
was delivered to Donetsk where she will be operated on by surgeons.

Separatists in Sloviansk occupied the local police, security and town
hall buildings, as well as hospitals and hotels, Anosov also said.

Currently Sloviansk is the most difficult town in the region, he said.
