Most Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should fully or partially refuse purchase of Russian gas. These data are taken from a survey by the Rating sociological group, promulgated at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
In particular, 38% of respondents believe that the country should completely abandon gas purchase from Russia, 25% support the partial refusal of Russian gas so far as this is possible.
22% of respondents consider it necessary to keep the volume of deliveries, but to seek a compromise with Russia regarding gas prices, 3% support keeping the volume of Russian gas supplies, fulfilling all its conditions, 12% have no opinion.
64% of Ukrainians are clearly or likely ready to save gas, heat and electricity, if they are sure this will strengthen Ukraine’s position in relations with Russia, 30% are definitely or probably not ready for this, 6% could not decide.
The survey was conducted on April 25-30. Some 2,000 respondents were polled. The sampling error does not exceed 2.2%.
