Kyiv City Council Secretary Halyna Hereha will fulfill the duties of Kyiv's mayor, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that Popov announced this before the ceremony to open Andriyivsky Uzviz in Kyiv on Sunday, June 3.
"The law envisages that in such a case the secretary of the city council automatically fulfills the duties of the city mayor," Popov said.
As reported, Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky tendered his resignation on June 1.
