The Kyivska Rus school located on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kyiv will be Russian-language and it will be built for the funds of investors, Head of Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA) Oleksandr Popov has said.

“Some Russian companies are investors of this project. The school
will be located in a building that will be reconstructed and expanded in
size,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

Popov also said: “I hope that a Russian-language school will appear next year.”

Minister for Education and Science, Youth and Sports Dmytro Tabachnyk
earlier sent a letter to Kyiv City State Administration with the
proposal to open on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kyiv the
Kyivska Rus school with the advanced study of the Russian language, as
well as the history and culture of all Slavic peoples.

In his opinion, such an institution can be created on the basis of
the school, which is currently being built in the city’s Darnytsia
district (Osokorky housing estate, 6 Hmyri Street).
