Kyiv's hotel infrastructure is ready to accept the 500,000 foreign fans that are expected to come to the Euro 2012 finals, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

“If needed, we have the capacity of our hotel business to accept
additional guests. And I don’t see any problem in this because we
prepared for this and figured on this amount of fans,” he said at a
press conference in Kyiv.

“Our infrastructure, including hotels, I am sure will work at a high level,” added Popov.

Popov said the city would not allocate additional funds to create additional accommodation for foreign fans.

“We have prepared,” said Popov.

However, asked about the housing pricing for foreign fans in the
capital, Popov noted that “we cannot influence such a policy, as well as
this policy cannot be influenced in other countries. The same things
happened in those countries that organized the championships in the
previous years. The same things are happening in Warsaw.”

According to Popov, foreign fans who purchased tickets for the Euro
2012 finals have booked rooms in hotels. According to him, there are
4,500 such rooms.
