Over 11,000 Ukrainian border guards have been involved in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine, and 63 of them have been killed since the conflict began, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has reported.

“Over 11,000 border guards defended [the] sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the ATO zone,” Poroshenko said while congratulating border guards to mark their professional holiday in Bortnychi.
