You're reading: Poroshenko appoints new Vinnytsia Oblast governor

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has dismissed Anatoliy Oliynyk from the post of the head of Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration, and replaced him with Valeriy Koroviy.

The decree appointing Korovoiy was posted on the president’s website on Feb. 28 as Poroshenko was visiting Vinnytsia.

Prior to the appointment, Koroviy worked as a deputy mayor of Vinnytsia. From 2000 to 2006 he was deputy head of Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration; and from 2006 to 2010 held the post of the first deputy head of Vinnytsia Oblast State Administration.
