Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on amendments to Article 41 of the law of Ukraine on joint stock companies.

The statement, posted on the website of the head of state, notes this law concerns changes “regarding the quorum for general meetings of joint stock companies with the state’s major corporate rights.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada on Jan. 13, 2015 passed the law to reduce the quorum required for holding the general meetings of companies from 60 percent to 50 percent plus one share.

According to the document, the norm of the quorum reduction for companies without a state stake will come into force from Jan. 1, 2016.
