President Petro Poroshenko intends to discuss possible deliveries of non-lethal weapons and technologies to Ukraine during his working visit to Canada.

‘Petro Poroshenko has announced that during his visit, he plans to discuss ways to broaden cooperation aimed at further bolstering the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He has said that deliveries of lethal weapons are out of the question, but Canada can help by delivering non-lethal kinds of weapons and technologies,’ the Ukrainian leader’s press service reported following Poroshenko’s interview with the CBC television station.

Poroshenko also believes that Canada could join efforts on the part of the United States and the European Union to extend macroeconomic assistance to the Ukrainian economy.

In his interview, Poroshenko thanked Canada for its strong support of Ukraine in this difficult time and said that the importance of such an approach taken by the G7 countries could not be exaggerated.

‘The world has united in its support for Ukraine, which is going through a hard time today,’ the Ukrainian leader was quoted as saying by his press service.
