Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is certain that Ukraine will win the war for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“Our victory depends on every serviceman understanding his responsibility for carrying out orders. I’m sure we will we win the war for freedom, independence and territorial integrity. Ukraine’s borders will be reliably protected,” the President said during his visit to the Bohdan Khmelnytsky National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

“Recently, officers have graduated early from your academy. I have no doubts that the graduates who fill the ranks of border guard units will be worthy protectors of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.

He spoke of the importance of training qualified experts who can meet the modern challenges the border guard service faces.

“We must adequately response to any threat, be capable of protecting out national interests. Without a strong army, there’s no strong sovereign state,” Poroshenko said.

In addition, he presented state awards to five border guards who exhibited boldness, high professionalism and loyalty to the military oath during the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas.
