Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with military and law-enforcement officials to discuss the use of Russian-made Grad multiple rocket launchers by illegal armed units against Ukrainian servicemen, the president's press service reported.

“For every taken life of our servicemen, they will pay with tens and hundreds of theirs. Not a single terrorist will escape responsibility, everyone will get what they deserve,” Poroshenko said.

It is necessary to improve the situation with providing servicemen with personal protection equipment, Poroshenko said. “It is essential that every serviceman in the area is equipped with an armor vest and everything else necessary,” he said.

It has been reported that Ukrainian servicemen died on July 11 morning following an attack using Grad artillery systems by the Russian-led insurgents aimed at subdivisions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the village Zelenopillia in Sverdlovsk district on Luhansk region. According to the Ukrainian Interior Minister aide Zorian Shkiriak, at least 30 people died, while spokesman of the counter-terrorism operation headquarters Vladyslav Selezniov said that in the past 24 hours a total of 23 people from the Ukrainian side had died.
