Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he hopes that the European Commission will positively assess Ukraine's implementation of visa regime liberalization plan at the Riga summit in May.

“I hope for your support in the context of the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga on May 21-22 when adopting a relative positive report of the European Commission, which will be a powerful EU impetus to the Ukrainian people,” Poroshenko said at a joint press conference with Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker in Kyiv on April 27.

He said he hopes that the European Commission and EU member states will properly assess the work Ukraine has done, and based on the results of the mission’s report, will carry necessary consultations and make up an exhausted list of steps required to be implemented by Ukraine.
