Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande spoke over the phone and supported the necessity of concluding agreements on withdrawing weapons smaller than 100 mm in caliber at the demarcation line.

“President Poroshenko once again noted the importance of de-escalation of [the situation] in Shyrokyne, and noted the necessity to conclude agreements on withdrawal of weapons smaller than 100 mm in caliber. The initiatives were supported by chancellor Merkel and President Hollande,” the press service of Ukrainian President reported on July 10.

The parties also discussed the implementation of the Minsk accords. “The parties agreed on the necessity to activate efforts to achieve a full ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy military equipment,” reads the statement.
