President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said how is it important that parliament adopt an anti-corruption package of bills at its extraordinary sitting on October 7.

“Tomorrow the parliament must vote for a package of anticorruption bills. Here no compromises are possible!” he said on Twitter on Oct. 6 evening after meeting with U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland.

“This is a question of Ukraine security!” the president said.

According to the president’s press service, the president said about the importance of adopting the package of anti-corruption laws at the meeting with leaders of factions and deputy groups.

Poroshenko drew particular attention to the adoption of the law on National Anti-Corruption Bureau. “We all must demonstrate decisiveness and impartiality. We must do everything to improve the efficiency of struggle against corruption,” he said.

The president stressed that the adoption of the anti-corruption bills was important as part of Ukraine’s implementation of its liabilities to international organizations and the implementation of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, adding that postponement or failure to adopt these bills would create serious problems.
