A very important result was achieved on Dec. 26 towards the release of coal supplies to Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko reported.

“The first trainloads have already gone, to provide uninterrupted work in electric power stations. This is the first step that will allow for improving the quality of the energy system’s work,” the president said, during a meeting with the newly appointed heads of the Lviv, Rivne, Sumy and Poltava regional state administrations.

The president went on to say that Ukraine will experience an overflow of electricity on Friday that will reduce the risk of rolling blackouts during the hours of peak usage.
