Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said nearly 11,000 Russian troops are currently deployed in Ukraine.

“Nearly 11,000 Russian military men are deployed in our territory today,” Poroshenko said in an interview with German ZDF television.

He reiterated that the Minsk agreements demand a ceasefire, the withdrawal of heavy artillery, the withdrawal of all Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, and control being established over the border under OSCE monitoring.

However, Poroshenko said that Russian troops still are deployed in Ukraine.
