Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will reach 250,000 people in 2015.

“This year we plan to increase strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine up to 250,000 people,” he said on Jan. 29, after the flower-laying ceremony at the memorial sign to Kruty Heroes in Kyiv.

Poroshenko has stressed that the Ukrainian army was being reborn at the cost of colossal efforts.

He reminded that the age of conscripts had been raised up to 20 years. “I have forbidden sending the conscripts to the anti-terrorist operation area,” Poroshenko added.
