Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko reported that a group of saboteurs, among them a citizen of Russia, detained during the liberation of Maryinka on June 4.

“The town was cleared on June 4 on the orders of the supreme commander”, he said.

The operation involved servicemen of the 95th airmobile brigade, the 25th airborne brigade, the 28th brigade and the National Guard.

“I can tell you today that Maryinka has been fully liberated from the saboteurs. Twelve persons, among them a citizen of the Russian Federation, who resisted the Ukrainian Armed Forces with arms, have been detained,” Poroshenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on June 5.
