You're reading: Poroshenko says Ukrainian military needs unbiased, operative information on Ukraine, global situation

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has spoken about the importance of providing accurate information to the Ukrainian military on the situation inside and outside the country.

“The army, especially on the frontline, vitally needs unbiased, objective and operative information on the situation, not only at the front and inside the country. The army must also understand how dangerous the world has become. We must clearly understand the meaning of Russian aggression in supposedly distant Syria. We should realize how close to the Third World War these totally irresponsible steps have brought us,” he said while delivering a speech at the Military Academy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on Oct. 7.

Poroshenko emphasized that Russia is constantly carrying out information attacks against the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, the level of security, which was balanced in 2013, cannot be compared with the situation today.

“We’ll never live under the conditions of the past days, we must clearly understand this,” Poroshenko said.

He emphasized the importance of providing moral-psychological support for soldiers on the frontline and accurate information on the situation inside and outside Ukraine.

Poroshenko added that he believes that providing information is equal in importance to supplying weapons, ammunition, and personal protection to soldiers.
